Hyatt has announced growth in its portfolio of lifestyle hotels in the Middle East, with plans to open the first Hyatt Centric-branded hotel in the UAE and Saudi Arabia; the first Andaz-branded hotel in Dubai; and the second Alila-branded property in the Sultanate of Oman.

The properties are expected to add more than 1,300 keys to the region, bringing the number of Hyatt lifestyle hotels in the Middle East to seven by 2023.

Slated to open in late 2019, Andaz Dubai The Palm will be the first Andaz branded property in Dubai and the second in the UAE, joining Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi. It will feature twin 15-story towers, with 217 guestrooms and 116 serviced apartments, four restaurants, a fitness center, a spa, and exclusive beachfront access.

The Hyatt Centric brand will mark its entry into the UAE with the opening of Hyatt Centric Dubai La Mer expected in 2020. The hotel will comprise 156 rooms and suites, two restaurants, meeting facilities, a rooftop bar, and a pool area.

A luxury destination set to open in Oman in 2020, the Alila Hinu Bay beachfront resort will comprise 112 retreats and villas.

The first Hyatt Centric-branded hotel in Saudi Arabia, Jabal Omar Hyatt Centric Makkah Hotel and Residences will be close to the Grand Mosque of Makkah. Set to open in 2023, the hotel will feature 196 guestrooms and suites, as well as 200 residences.

Commenting on the announcement of the new hotels, vice president of operations for the Middle East, Africa, and South West Asia for Hyatt, Kurt Straub, said: “At Hyatt, we aim to grow with intent. And with that in mind, we strive to expand our brand presence in the region by introducing lifestyle-driven brands that cater to the needs of our guests and, at the same time, fit very well into their locations.”
