Mariyah Qibtiyah was gifted to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who bore him a son, Ibrahim, who passed away in his infancy. This area, now a graveyard, marks where Mariyah Qibtiyah live, and where Ibrahim also died.
روى ابن زبالة ويحيى من طريقه وابن شبة من طريق أبي غسان عن ابن أبي يحيى بن محمد بن ثابت ( أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى في مشربة أم إبراهيم ) وسبب تسمية المسجد بهذا الاسم أي مشربة أم إبراهيم هو أن السيدة مارية القبطية ولدت سيدنا إبراهيم ابن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فيها
Mashribah Umm Ibraheem was the house of Mariah Qibtiyyah Radi Allaho Anha, where Ibraheem Bin Muhammad Radi Allaho Anh was born, & Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam offered prayers at the Mashribah.
After Ghazwah Tabook, Ibraheem Bin Muhammad Radi Allaho Anh fell sick & he was 18 months old.
When Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam heard about his child’s sickness, he rushed to the place; with Abdul Rahmaan Bin Awf Radi Allah Anh holding the hand of our beloved Prophet. He arrived in time to bid farewell to an infant dying in his mother's lap. Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam took the child and laid him in his own lap & said, "O Ibrahim, against the order of Allah, we cannot avail you a thing," and then fell silent. Tears flowed from his eyes & the child died.
حديث مرفوع) أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، فَأَتَى بِهِ النَّخْلَ ، فَإِذَا ابْنُهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ فِي حِجْرِ أُمِّهِ ، وَهُوَ يَجُودُ بِنَفْسِهِ ، فَأخَذَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَوَضَعَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ إِنَّا لا نُغْنِي عَنْكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا " ، ثُمَّ ذَرَفَتْ عَيْنَاهُ
Then he said further :
يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ، لَوْلا أَنَّهُ أَمْرٌ حَقٌّ ، وَوعْدُ صِدْقٍ ، وَسَبِيلٌ مَأْتِيٌّ ، وَأَنَّ أُخْرَانَا سَتَلْحَقُ أُولانَا ، لَحَزِنَّا عَلَيْكَ حُزْنًا هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْ هَذَا ، وَإِنَّا بِكَ لَمَحْزُونُونَ ، تَبْكِي الْعَيْنُ وَيَحْزَنُ الْقَلْبُ ، وَلا نَقُولُ مَا يُسْخِطُ الرَّبَّ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
"O Ibrahim, were the truth not certain that the last of us will join the first, we would have mourned you even more than we do now. The eyes send their tears and the heart is saddened, but we do not say anything except that which pleases our Lord”.
Ibraheem Bin Muhammad Radi Allaho Anh was buried in Baqee’.
