The agreement sees SGS assisting and facilitating the process of 250 special needs pilgrims’ travels, who will be traveling separately on three different flights from King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh to King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah on Aug. 29, and will return to Riyadh on Sept. 4 after performing Haj.

The agreement was made during the recent visit of Hassan Al Meshaqi, Harakia administrative affairs director, and Hamoud Al Hamoud, Harakia director of public relations and information, with Ali Al Shammari, SGS acting general manager at KKIA and Abdulrahman Al Zaid, Saudi Airlines Riyadh station director.

“The need for responsible practices is more critical than ever, in SGS, we believe that CSR is one of the core pillars of our company, and we always seek to effectively participate in activities that bring real value to our community and our country," said Qaid Bin Khalaf Al Otaibi, SGS CEO.

"Such agreements help to service a very important and valued segment in our society, and we always insure that we provide the highest levels of service to them, within all the 27 airports we operate at around the Kingdom," Al-Otaibi added.

Mohammed Bin Saad Al Hamali, general manager of Harakia, said: "SGS provides excellent services for people with special needs, and our previous experiences with their services at KKIA (Riyadh) and at KAIA (Jeddah), has left a positive impact on us, which led to this visit and eventually to this agreement."

Al-Shammari, SGS acting GM at KKIA, added: "We will coordinate with all airports’ sectors to facilitate and provide all the needed services to the pilgrims of Harakia. Staring from receiving them and receiving all equipment they might have, such as wheelchairs, and finishing all their travel procedures. We will also coordinate with the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saudi Airlines and all other related parties, to bring the aircrafts, on which they will travel, closer to the gates. We will also coordinate with the arrival station to insure they would receive all the proper service with the highest standards." — SG
