DUBAI:  Hundreds of fans have been installed in the Masjid Al-Mustafa mosque in Madina, Saudi state-news channel Al-Ekhbariya reported.

The project, thought to be one of the largest in the world, is designed to cool pilgrims during the summer heat, which will overlap with Haj this year.

There are 436 of the 120kg fans, blowing 200 liters of water as a fine mist of water into the air every hour.
