RIYADH: Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al-Jaber has welcomed the Yemeni pilgrims for this year’s Hajj season (corresponding to 1439 AH).

On his official Twitter account, Al-Jaber affirmed that the Saudi government has completed procedures to receive and guide Yemeni pilgrims from all governorates in Yemen without exception or discrimination.

Yemeni Ministry of Endowments and Guidance said on Saturday that it had “completed the arrangements to receive some 25,000 Yemeni pilgrims coming from the Yemeni territory through Wadiah Port starting Aug 2.”

Yemeni Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Dr. Ahmad Attiyah, said that Wadiah Port is the only land point for Yemeni pilgrims to cross into Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Al-Jaber also added that “all transport, nutrition, housing and visas arrangements have been completed.

“This year, some 25,000 Yemeni pilgrims will arrive from all parts of Yemen, whether under the legitimate government or areas controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.”

He thanked President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who is following the march of Yemen’s pilgrims and expressed gratitude to the Saudi leadership and government authorities.

The arrival of the Yemeni pilgrims for this year's Hajj season was facilitated by the joint coordination of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, the Kingdom’s Embassy in Yemen and all relevant institutions and bodies.

The Yemeni Minister of Awqaf and Guidance called on Yemeni pilgrims to focus on their Hajj rituals and leave political differences outside the borders.

He said "Hajj does not inherit nor market controversy", demanding compliance with the instructions of the Saudi security authorities and the directives of the Yemeni Ministry of Awqaf and Guidance for a proper Hajj.

Border post officials in Sharurah province in Najran are working diligently and continuously around the clock to receive the first group of pilgrims.

Moreover, youth field teams in the Yemeni Depository Center completed preparations for the pilgrims. Tents, mobile toilets and water tanks have been installed and committees have been assigned to help service the pilgrims.
