MAKKAH: An app from the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has helped 66,367 pilgrims and visitors to reserve electric vehicles and carts so they can perform Tawaf and Saee between Safa and Marwah at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

Tanaqqol allows people to pre-book carts and vehicles and so helps to reduce crowding at ticket sale and collection points, contributing to social distancing among pilgrims.
The presidency said it had provided 5,000 regular carts and 3,000 electric ones with easy access for the elderly, sick and people with special needs.

Tanaqqol lets users pay online or with cash upon receiving the carts, and the service is provided around the clock. It also deals with applications electronically, ensuring a quick response.

The procedures to apply electronically through the app require registration with the following details: Name, the citizen’s national identity card or iqama number for residents, and mobile phone number.

Applicants receive a text message that should be verified, specifying the time and date as well as the name of cart users.

They can choose the size of the cart, with one or two seats, a cart with or without a driver and the payment method, cash or online, before confirming their reservation.
