President of the Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has decided to allocate 2,000 Hajj quotas for the elderly.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, the President's decision applies to those who were not fortunate enough to win in the recent Hajj draw.
This measure covers male and female citizens who registered for the Hajj draw for the 1448 AH / 2027 AD season, are aged 70 or older, and have registered ten times in the regular process.
The President's decision stems from his keenness to afford this category of citizens a greater opportunity to perform the Hajj rituals.
The special draw for this process will take place next Saturday at provincial headquarters or any suitable location selected by local authorities, in the presence of those concerned or their representatives.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that the draw is strictly reserved for citizens who fulfill both conditions—age and the specified number of previous registrations—to the exclusion of any others.
The Ministry noted that any registrant who does not meet both mentioned conditions will not be taken into consideration.
