Saudi organizes hajj in more modern, planned manner

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - General President of Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah Sheikh Abdurrahman As-Sudais stated that Saudi Arabia has organized Hajj 1439 Hijri/2018 with more modern innovations and well-planned initiatives than before.

In a statement via a short message service received by ANTARA here on Monday, Sheikh As-Sudais noted that this year`s Hajj season was managed by the Kingdom through well-planned organization to implement various innovations and provide several modern facilities to ensure all pilgrims can worship comfortably and safely.

Sheikh As-Sudais explained that all preparations for Hajj by the Kingdom were made through participation and coordination among various relevant departments and institutions, including the security forces, the Interior Ministry, and the Emirates of Mecca and Medina.

He said competent departments were constantly monitoring the flow of pilgrims through the doors, elevators, and stairs. Several officers are also observing the activities at all doors and entrances during the Hajj season.

These facilities comprise 210 doors at the Grand Mosque, 100 doors at Nabawi Mosque, 28 elevators in the Grand Mosque, 38 elevators for worshipers with special needs, and seven elevators for women.

Moreover, to globally convey the message of the Islamic civilization, the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman and Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman has launched several Hajj programs for pilgrims, so that they can worship in accordance with the Islamic teachings.

Sheikh As-Sudais also elaborated on other programs being implemented by the Kingdom, including strengthening the role of women to serve worshipers and guest services program, the "Rahman."

The Kingdom has also activated the roles of the two Holy Quran scientific and guidance through the chairs of scientific participation of several members of the Council of Senior Scholars, Imams, and Preachers Of The Two Holy Mosques and faculty members of various universities.

These initiatives and programs are aimed at strengthening the image of Islam and intensifying the role of the Two Holy Mosques.
