Lenasia to Host Exhibition of Relics of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

South Africa has been awarded a rare opportunity of hosting an Exhibition of the Sacred Relics of the Prophet (ﷺ).

It's understood a  research Centre in collaboration with Sayyid Ahmad Ehraz, the custodian of the relics, are the hosts of the International Sacred Trusts Exhibition.

The family that has been custodians of these relics for 15 generations – and since the 17th century – at the Jama Masjid in Delhi, India.

The 10 items to be exhibited include a hair of The Prophet (ﷺ), his sandals, pieces of his cloak which still aparently has the smell of musk on it, a piece of his turban, sand from his grave and an ancient lock used on The Prophet (ﷺ) burial place in Masjid-un-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition will be hosted in Durban, Gauteng and Cape Town.

Lenasia will also host the relics at the Baitun Noor Centre on March 2019 between 11am to Asr Salaah.

It’s understood the relics would be displayed in the manner as at the famous Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey.
