JEDDAH — Some 85 years after issuance a number of regulations relating to Tawafa, Zamazima and Guides have repealed.

The repealed regulations include the Mutawwifs General Regulation issued in 1367H, the Mutawwifs’ Agents and Jawa Sheikhs Regulation issued in 1367H and the Regulation for Guides (Adillaa) Authority in Madinah issued in 1356H.

The rules for disciplinary action against staff members of mutawwifs, agents, guides and zamazima (establishments) issued in 1400H have also been revoked, sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette.

The abrogation of the regulations coincides with the issuance of the rules and executive bylaws for service providers to overseas pilgrims.

The new rules relating to Tawafa establishments, comprising 23 articles, come into effect 90 days after publication in the official gazette.

Directives have stressed to the Ministry of Haj and Umrah to coordinate with the Ministry of Interior and the Presidency of State Security with regard to the conditions and procedures pertaining to security aspects.
