TEHRAN (IQNA) – Registration of Iran’s pilgrims for the 2020 Hajj will begin on Friday, February 28, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization said.

Ali Reza Rashidian said the cost per pilgrim for this year’s Hajj will be determined soon, before the start of the registration.

He added that planning for different aspects of sending the pilgrims, including accommodation, meals, transportation, medical care, etc, has been done and implementing the plans will begin in the appropriate time.

Rashidian and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Muhammad Saleh bin Taher Benten signed the agreement in Riyadh after a round of negotiations on December 8.

In 2019, some 88,500 Iranians made the pilgrimage.

Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
