KABUL (Pajhwok): The Saudi Arabian embassy in Kabul has started issuing visas to Afghans who have registered their names to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs on Friday said that the process of issuing visas to Afghans to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj has been started.

The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs welcomed the commencement of the process of issuing visas to pilgrims and said it was trying to provide necessary facilities for this year’s Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in a timely manner.

It is worth mentioning that this year 13582 people from Afghanistan would travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj and the cost of each person is estimated to be $4130 US dollars.

The Ministry Hajj and Religious Affairs has already signed agreements with Ariana and Kam Air airlines for the transportation of pilgrims.
