While a delegation from the South African Haj and Umrah Council (Sahuc) departed on Monday for meetings with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to discuss the upcoming hajj season, the regulator has released its preliminary list of 21 accredited haj operators.

JEDDAH: The General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection in Saudi Arabia has said that thunderstorms and rain are expected over the regions of Makkah, Najran and the Eastern Region. The minister said, “The Kingdom also annually hosts over 2 million pilgrims in Makkah from around the world. It is estimated 64 percent of admissions to the ICU during the Haj season is due to cardiovascular disease. Over 45 percent of these patients unfortunately do not survive. The sheer volume of incidents makes Makkah an excellent choice as the inaugural city and represents the start of a program of critical importance to us at the ministry and the Kingdom overall.”
