5,625 Bahrainis to perform Haj, 21 per cent increase from last year

THE first group of pilgrims will travel across the border from Bahrain today as the annual Haj season starts. A total of 5,625 pilgrims from Bahrain are expected to travel to Mecca this month via 59 registered Haj operators, which is a 21 per cent increase from last year.

Makkah governor inspects reception center for Hajj pilgrims

JEDDAH: Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal inspected a Hajj reception center on the Makkah-Jeddah highway on Tuesday. The center will be completed by next year under the direction of the Hajj Ministry and the Makkah Development Authority. The center includes parking spaces that can accommodate more than four thousand vehicles.

Water Ministry to pump 40 million cubic meters extra for Haj

Abdul Rahman Al-Fadli, minister of environment, water and agriculture, has said his ministry will pump about 40 million cubic meters of extra water to Makkah, Madinah and the holy sites during the Haj season.
