Child nurseries a first for Hajj

JEDDAH: Children’s nurseries will be available to Hajj pilgrims for the first time following the launch of a nursery service inside Makkah and Madinah. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in cooperation with the Ministry of Education launched the nursery service to provide a safe and educational environment for children under the supervision of qualified staff.

White sea of humanity surge to Arafat at climax of Haj

The pilgrims performed obligatory prayers of Dhuhr, Asr, Magrib and Isha in shortened form following the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and engaged in supplications and reciting the Holy Qur’an. There were no incidents reported from any corners of the tent city while the vast plains of Arafat experienced mild sandstorm and rain on Sunday evening.

Rain, sandstorm likely to continue in Arafat Monday

Hussain Al-Qahtani, spokesman of the authority, said that the climatic fluctuations that took place today will continue up to tomorrow evening due to high temperatures and high humidity rates that would reach its peak in the afternoon.

New kiswa put on Holy Kaaba

The Holy Kaaba was adorned with a new cover (kiswa) on Arafat Day, Monday. Officials from the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and King Abdulaziz Kiswa Factory took part in the annual customary ceremony of changing the kiswa.
